Dr. Anita Shantaram

An Independent Director on multiple boards, Dr. Anita Shantaram has over 30 years of corporate training and teaching experience. She has completed her PhD titled 'Ethical Business Practices and Corporate Financial Performance: An Empirical Analysis' from BITS Pilani in 2015 and soon thereafter founded EthicsIndia that has since been acquired by Legasis Private Limited, a leading legal and compliance tech solutions firm.
She is certified as a Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance by ECI, U.S.A, after completing the executive-education program "Managing Ethics in Organizations" from Bentley University, Boston.
Dr Anita Shantaram has set up an online certification platform which has courses in the GRACE (Governance, Risk Assurance, Compliance and Ethics) area. She also runs a successful Train the Trainer Program in Business Ethics to build capacity and broaden the impact of ethics education.
A post-graduate in Industrial Psychology, Bombay University, 1990, Dr Anita Shantaram has received the Outstanding Teacher Award in the area of Business Ethics by the Higher Education Forum in 2013.
Dr Anita acts as an Independent Director on Multiple boards of companies including Bharat Wire Ropes Limited, Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited, Gujarat Insecticides Limited, Abans Enterprises Limited, and Responsive Industries Limited.
In her experience, she has conducted more than 1800+ workshops in India and the Middle East for organizations such as Dana India, Bank of Baroda, Larsen and Toubro, the Tata Group, IDBI, Motorola, Great Eastern Shipping, MUST Garments, Utmost Group and Intertec Systems among others, training over 20,000 persons.
She is also committed to teaching and is a visiting faculty at IIT Bombay, IIM Rohtak and NMIMS. She conducts Ethics Audits and helps organizations set up Ethics & Compliance programs, has been an external member for POSH, and has also been on the Academic Advisory Board of several institutes.
Dr Anita Shantaram regularly writes on the subject of Business Ethics, and has published 7 papers on the same. She has also been Rotary Club President and held various Club and District positions.
